About Graffiato: Taupō Street Art Festival

The first street art festival of its kind in New Zealand, Graffiato: Taupō Street Art Festival captures the diversity of mural painting practice, and what’s new and relevant in global urban culture.

Graffiato's ever-expanding portfolio of over 100 murals brings transformation, wonder and vibrancy to the urban lane ways and streets they inhabit. Even locals continue to find surprises hidden away down these charming back alleys.

Graffiato curator: Olivia Laita

The curator for the 12th year of Graffiato: Taupo Street Art Festival is arts manager, Olivia Laita.

Equipped with a PhD in Chemistry and an ever-growing CV of curating successful installations, Olivia has been creatively and holistically managing art projects for over 12 years. Her CV includes project management of the Askew One ‘Wynyard Quarter Silos’, curator manager for the ‘Post-Graffiti Pacific’ exhibitions in Auckland and Sydney and assistant manager for SWIDT’s award winning album ‘Stoneyhunga’.

The 2024 Graffiato: Taupō Street Art Festival features a dynamic lineup of artists who will bring new vibrancy to the town's urban spaces. The participating artists are:

These artists will contribute to the festival's ever-expanding portfolio of over 100 murals, transforming Taupō's laneways and streets with their unique styles and creative expressions. Their work continues the festival's mission to capture the diversity of mural painting and showcase what's new and relevant in global urban culture.
