Walking into The Cozy Corner, the first thing that caught Bas & Vaea's eyes was a huge hourglass-looking contraption. It looked like it was keeping time right next to the coffee machine. Instead of keeping time, it's making rich, smooth, and refreshing cold brew coffee. A must-try for those hot summer mornings when they need a pick-me-up before hitting the jumps.
Want a cool spot for a weekend brunch? Storehouse has you covered. Vaea couldn't resist the Fried Chicken Waffle. It’s the perfect marriage of sweet and savory with buttermilk waffles, topped with sweet and spicy syrup and their secret-recipe fried chicken.
After the jump session at Taupo Bike Park, there's nothing better than watching the sunset and grabbing a cold cider. Two Mile Bay Sailing Club is a weekend favourite for visitors and locals alike. Bas & Vaea ended a great day with an evening at the lakefront bar, enjoying a cold one and some wood-fried pizza.

Bas and Vaea enjoyed all the summer fun Taupo offers off the trails. Complete with their packed lunch of mousetraps and freshly baked sandwiches from Baked with Love, they kayaked to the Ngatoroirangi Mine Bay Maori Rock Carvings on a self guided tour with Taupo Kayaking Adventures. Basking in the afternoon sun, they took a look at the intricate details of the carvings. From the beach, Bas and Vaea enjoyed an afternoon picnic and soaked in stunning views of the lake and the summer sun.
Bas and Vaea traded their mountain bikes for the Chevy V8 jet boat at Rapids Jet. Blasting over to one of NZ's biggest and longest rapids, Aratiatia Rapids, they enjoyed a different kind of adrenaline rush. Shooting through the narrowest canyon on the Waikato River was a real thrill compared to racing down a mountain.
